Inherited a Palm Coast house? A first look from out of state
Inheriting a house in Palm Coast often means inheriting it from a parent who retired here, while you live hundreds of miles away. Before any decision about selling, renting or keeping it, most heirs simply want to see it as it stands.
What a first set shows
- The roof line, the gutters and the screens
- The lawn, the shrubs and the trees nearest the house
- The driveway, the garage door and the mailbox
- The pool cage or the lanai, from outside
- On a canal home, the seawall and the dock
From the street, from the grounds, from the air
Photos from the street show what the neighbors see. Photos all around the outside show the sides and the back yard. A drone video shows the roof and the whole lot at once, which helps when you are talking with a roofer or a real estate agent from out of state.
While the estate is settled
Probate and paperwork can take months, and the house sits through all of it. A set every month or two keeps the yard and the outside in view while you wait.
Keeping up the yard
The city and many homeowners associations expect a kept lawn whatever is happening with the estate. Dated photos show you whether the lawn service is keeping up.
